Children's Assertiveness Training and Self-Protection

Everyday our kids are in HOT ZONES where inappropriate and often violent behavior occurs. This course teaches children how to deal with the various difficult situations that kids have to deal with.

In a fun and lively environment, this program addresses:
• Dealing with bullies
• Playground altercations
• Protecting personal space
• Setting boundaries
• Assessing appropriate defense and how NOT to start a fight

Also taught in this course - Anti-Abduction Skills!
• How to avoid getting lost, including a safety checklist, basic information, and more!
• Home safety skills
• Abduction awareness – basic skills to detect and avoid abduction
• How to physically break away and escape the grasp of a would be abductor

At FAST CATS, children also learn to use their voice and TURN FEAR INTO POWER!

The FAST CATS program has been developed and refined over many years with the simple goal of helping children gain the awareness, confidence, and tools they need to address these difficult situations.  So while the FAST CATS program is offered by Minnesota Valley Martial Arts, this is definitely NOT a martial arts course and absolutely no martial arts experience is required.  Furthermore, no attempts will be made to use this course as a bait-and-switch to get students signed up for additional classes or sign a contract.  FAST CATS is a separate, independent program with the solitary goal of helping keep our children safe!

Minnesota Valley Martial Arts offers three different FAST defense programs to address a wide variety of needs for people of all ages and all walks of life. None of these courses involves martial arts training, however all are guaranteed to help you learn to Turn Fear into Power!
• FAST CATS - a 2.5-hour course open to children age 7-12. Cost is $40 per participant.
• FAST Defense - a 3-3.5 hour course open to ages 13 and above. Cost is $99 per participant.
